“How to Bullet Journal” workshop, January 6, 1:00 – 2:30 pm

Looking for a fun, creative way to get more organized for the New Year?

A bullet journal combines a daily planner, journal, and to-do lists into an all-inclusive diary created to your specific needs.  It can be a catch-all for goals and future planning, a quick reference for important activities, a place to let your creative spirit run free. The system is as flexible as you want it to be by tweaking it to your needs. You don’t need to be an artist to make an attractive BuJo with the tips learned in this workshop. Art supplies included. Journal NOT included. See some suggestions below.

This workshop will cover:

  • basic set up of the organizational system
  • ideas on what to include in your BuJo
  • how to design monthly and daily log pages
  • simple designs and doodles to make your BuJo a personalized keepsake
  • tips on how to make the most of your journal longterm

Workshop will take place at Anne Stine Fine Art Studio, 37949 Sayre Court, Purcellville, VA 20132.

Journal not provided. You can find a journal online or at a paper source store either with lines or dot matrix pages. Here are a few suggestions found on Amazon. (As an Amazon Affiliate, I receive a small commission when you purchase from the links provided WITHOUT increasing the product price.) Make sure to read the reviews to decide which one is best for you.

The Leuchtturm 1917 is the original bullet journal. Includes back pocket, two ribbon bookmarks, preprinted page numbers and index, hard cover, cream paper, 250 pages. The paper is a bit thin and you will see a “ghost’ of the previous ink writing and drawing. Markers will bleed through, but watercolor, pen and color pencils work fine. The ghosting doesn’t really bother me but it annoys some people according to the reviews.

This journal is similar to the Leuchtturm at half the cost. Softer cover.

The Pentalic journal has thicker white paper. Great for all art media because it is more of an art journal. There are no preprinted page numbers or index and only 160 pages. I’ve used this one and liked it, but wish it had more pages. It’s nice that the pages are pure white to make corrections with white-out or white pen.

Great workshop and now I have a new hobby. Anne gave us such great ideas and inspiration, I cannot wait to get started. I think this will be a practical way to get my thoughts, schedule, and lists organized as well as a creative outlet that I badly need.
